Q. What is your company name and location?
- The publishing company is Real Estate Communication Resources
(RECR). My appraisal company is Ann O'Rourke & Associates.
- The offices of both companies are located at 2015 Clement
Ave., Alameda, Calif, inside the Alameda Marina. Yes, I do have a very good
marina view!
Q. What if there are
problems with getting your emailed PDF products?
- Your
spam-blocking software may be moving it to a spam inbox or deleting the email.
- Check
your spam inbox.
- Try
adding info@appraisaltoday.com as
an "approved" email sender.
- We can
send the products to you by postal mail, if you still can't get them.
Q. How do I know my online
order is secure?
- Your order will be processed on the secure servers of our e-commerce
provider, Rich Media Technologies, Inc.,
providing online secure ordering using SSL. We
have been using them since 1999 and have never had a problem.
Q. How do I know your company is legitimate and will
ship my order?
- As with checking out any Web site, call my 800 number
(800-839-0227) and see if someone answers. (My non-800 numbers also ring in the same
location.)
- I have been publishing information for appraisers since June,
1992, and started my appraisal practice in 1986. My publishing business is almost 100%
mail order. I have always accepted credit cards.
- I am fairly well known in the appraisal community and have had
articles published in most of the major publications.
- I am a designated member of the Appraisal Institute, a well

Q. What if I have questions about your
products?
Q. Who answers your phone and ships the orders?
- I am an appraiser also, and am out in the field a lot. I have
assistant, Theresa Lua, who is in the office from
7AM to noon, M,T,W, Pacific time, except when making
deliveries.
- All the orders are shipped from my office in Alameda, Calif.
Q. Why won't you bill me for my order?
- For unknown reasons, I have not had much luck collecting
newsletter billings from appraisers, so I no longer accept bill-me orders. Occasionally, I
will bill someone for a newsletter subscription if they work for a major corporation, and
can provide me with a P.O. number. However, generally employees just use their own credit
cards and get reimbursed for their expense, as few orders go over $200.
Shipping methods
- All my
products except CDs are available in PDF only. Starting November, 2007 my
newsletter is only available in PDF format.
- Orders are sent UPS
Ground.
- Orders are typically shipped within 1 week. You
will be notified if a book is on backorder.
Canadian orders
- My 800 numbers work in all provinces of Canada.
- I am unable to accept checks written on Canadian banks. My
bank has problems processing them. My apologies.
- Orders are shipped via U.S. Mail.
- Overnight shipping is available for $25.
Back orders
- If we are out of stock on a product, you will be notified
within 30 days, at the latest (30 days minimum notification is required by law for mail
order companies).
International orders
- Payments must be in U.S. funds. Faxed credit card orders are
typically the easiest ordering method. Fax number 510-523-1138.
- My 800 numbers don't work outside the U.S. and Canada. Please
use the numbers at the bottom of this page, or email me your order, providing the
information on the order form and emailing it to ann@appraisaltoday.com.
